- Amazing Raw Vegan Creamy Soda
This drink was created on a hot day as a healthy, light and refreshing low glycemic, vegan alternative. Michele has been channelling her creativity in the kitchen into new recipes for the Body Ecology Diet and more specifically raw food recipes.
We had to start the name of this Recipe Post with Amazing as the taste and texture were exactly that and for the next week we had it every day since it was so delicious and different to anything else that we had tried.
We have ended up with 3 different looking drinks - 2 sweet and 1 sweet spicy. We recommend the sparkling mineral water over and above the soda water . As a transitional option, however, if you make up the soda water using your own filtered, preferably alkaline water then it will fill the same role.
HINT: Adding the stevia drops at the end of blending reduces the frothiness.
Vanilla Vegan Creamy Soda
1 cup of almond mylk

Basic Almond Mylk Recipe for all three drinks
1/2 cup of almond mylk
1/2 green granny smith apple peeled and cored and chopped into small pieces
1/2 tspn fine kelp salt or small pinch of celtic salt
1/2 tspn vanilla powder
7 drops of English Toffee Stevia
Plus 1/2 cup of soda water or sparkling mineral water (preferred)
Method
Blend all ingredients (except the mineral water) in blender like Vitamix until absolutely smooth and liquid. Pour into large glass and top up with the 1/2 cup of sparkling mineral water and stir gently just enough to blend. Drink and enjoy

To the Vanilla Vegan Creamy Soda drink above (minus the mineral water) add the following
- About a 2cm cube of beetroot processed in the following way.
Method
Cut the piece of beetroot up until you have pieces that can fit into a garlic press and squeeze them making sure to let all the drops land in your blender with the almond mylk mixture.
Also use about a teaspoon of the pressed beetroot that squeezes out of the garlic press. Use enough to achieve the colour that you are after. The beetroot gives colour while contributing some sweetness to the drink and toning up your liver at the same time. Blend the beetroot juice and pieces until finely blended again.
Pour into large glass and top up with the 1/2 cup of soda water/sparkling mineral water and stir gently just enough to blend.....ready to drink. This drink has a very similar flavour to the white one with the added bonus of the colour.

To the Vanilla Vegan Creamy Soda drink at top (minus the sparkling mineral water) add the following
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of organic turmeric powder (according to taste and colour requirements)
- small pinch of organic nutmeg powder
Method
Blend the spices in with the almond nutmylk mixture until completely smooth and creamy. Pour into large glass and top up with the 1/2 cup of soda water/sparkling mineral water and stir gently just enough to blend.
